Home is where the heart is...

and my heart is in Poznań. This is the place I was born in and, more or less, where my family comes from. My great-grandfather came to Poland from Germany and settled in Szreniawa where my grandfather Franciszek was born. My grandmother Bronia was born in, a now nonexistent village, Glinno (the same Glinno Wojciech Bogusławski, the father of the Polish theater, was born in).
My grandparents later moved to Poznań in search of work, where they met and fell in love. Since that moment my family lived in Poznań, in Sierakowska street. I live in a terraced house with a beautiful garden.

In my free time I love walking around the old town square, visiting museums and remembering stories my grandfather used to tell me about Poznań's military history. Unfortunately, while I like living in Poznań, the city became too crowded and polluted for my tastes. There's not nearly enough green terrains left. That's why my parents are building a house in Konarzewo, a small village near Dopiewo. When I went there the first time I remembered my grandmother's stories about Glinno, forests and farmlands all around me. I found the place where I belonged and look isn't it beautiful?
I will miss Poznań but Konarzewo is the place where I want to live, my heart agrees. My mom tells me that I'm returning to my roots and I guess it's true, Szreniawa is real close too.
Well, I guess it's all I've got to say about my home. If you're interested in more information about Konarzewo, Poznań's military history or need to know which museums are worth visiting you may ask me.
